Silicon Valley Pay for Performance Consortium Congratulates SCCIPA Physicians

The Silicon Valley Pay for Performance Consortium joined SCCIPA to congratulate its newly NCQA-recognized physicians and to announce impressive first-year results for the Consortium program. The Consortium is a collaborative effort started by Cisco®, Intel and Oracle to accelerate the use of technology to improve patient experiences and outcomes. SCCIPA and six other Bay Area medical groups representing 25 physician practice sites qualified for National Committee for Quality Assurance recognition through NCQA’s Physician Practice Connections (PPC) quality program.

Three SCCIPA physician practices with thirteen participating physicians applied for and met the rigorous NCQA PPC standards--
- Almaden Family Physicians: David Griffith MD, Jeffrey Ettinger MD, David McCullough MD, John Wortley MD, Amy Morishima MD
- Samaritan Family Practice: Manjula Kamaraju MD, Kuljeet Rai MD, William Warshal MD, Norman Woods MD
- Samaritan Medical Care Center: Samuel Cipoletti MD, Diana Fink MD, Melanie Martin MD, Keith Wiley MD

“We congratulate the SCCIPA physicians who achieved NCQA recognition,” commented Lori Vatcher, Executive Director of SCCIPA’s management company, Pacific Partners Management Services, Inc./PPMSI. “These physician offices are especially well-connected to patients, to other practitioners and to medical information, extending the excellent care they provide to maintain healthy patients and healthy practices."

The SCCIPA physicians adopted new tools that resulted in more efficient workflows and patient/physician communications to enhance the quality of patient care.
- Patients can set up appointments and communicate with their practices online.
- Physicians manage patient care more proactively.
- Practice systems track patient treatments and conditions; provide electronic prescribing tools; and track lab and imaging tests and referrals.
